It’s always an honour—and a bit scary—to photograph another professional photographer, whether it’s their wedding or family portraits. And especially when they’re as good as James Day!
James and I have known each other since 2007 and over the years we’ve photographed together a bunch of times, especially recently since I’ve moved back to Sydney’s Northern Beaches after living overseas.
The Days have become good friends of mine and I really enjoyed doing their portrait photography session.
We started out getting some fun, playful photos at a local park, then moved to a field as the sun got low in the sky, giving everything a beautiful golden glow. We ended the session at the beach at twilight, getting beautiful photos of the Day family interacting on the beach and dunes.
Their son Jake was great for most of our long portrait session, loving it when James threw him in the air and caught him, but really just wanting to cuddle up with Cath towards the end. 🙂
We finished the session with some romantic images of James and Cath. I love the one of James lifting Cath into the air!
